Hello, My Name is Ken Thomas aka "Dream Maker"

I am the founder of the Chicago Buffalo Troopers Motorcycle Club, formally the Chicago Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club. The National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club was formed in 1999 after the growth of our club with Buffalo Soldier chapters in other states. With the Chicago Chapter being recognized as the mother chapter of the organization the club has grown to over 115 chapters to date.

I am a retired Chicago Police Officer and I currently ride a 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour. I have been riding motorcycles over 30 years and I chose to form the motorcycle club after experiencing the activities of the local clubs in the Chicago area. I wanted to create a new club that honored the history and legacy of those African Americans that fought and died for this country and a club that would be respected within our community and throughout this nation.  Our mission as a club is simple, we ride, educate, and give back to community.

As they say, “The rest is history”

Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers  Retrace at Fort Leavenworth, Ks
July 31, 2004

We dedicate our website to the everlasting memory of those Civil War-era warriors who fought for much more than just the cause of the United States, but for what they were promised with the passage of the 14th Amendment. Their desire to collect on this promise strengthened their resolve, resulting in their forging ahead to prove themselves worthy. Since the arrival of African captives in America, historical information regarding their past has been either omitted or, when known, not taught in our schools. However, other Americans have the ability to research information regarding their lineage dating back to the 14th century. Until the establishment of the Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers MC other groups that bear the Buffalo Soldier name, many new members were unaware of their ancestors' Buffalo Soldier history. Several Buffalo Soldier organizations have resurrected the image of the Buffalo Soldiers and taken on the responsibility of ensuring they never vanish from our memory again. You are hereby invited to enter the territory of the Buffalo Soldiers, which encompasses a range spanning five frontiers. These frontiers are a product of a single club that resulted in the establishment of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Clubs. The NABSTMC currently has a footprint that 66% of the States of the Union, including Hawaii and Korea We, the Chicago BTMC, are proud to be the First of Many.
